Anyway, I was looking through some of my friends' (and some people I don't really know but know) deviantARTs and I'm amazed by how much work they put into their art, how passionate they are, and just how much they have improved!
This puts me (and my art) to shame.
Have I been drawing? No.
I have ideas, but I'm not good at putting them on paper. It seems that writing is, after all, my forte. Well, for a long time, I didn't read a lot of ~good~ books (*cough* Twilight *cough*) and a lot of manga. Which tend to have cliche plots.
As a result, my creative writing suffered. Badly. You wouldn't believe how horrible mine was when I got bored during vacation and typed some random story up onto my dad's laptop. So the solution for this is to practice, practice, practice. And read a lot of ~good~ books too (I really need to read some by this Japanese author whose name escapes me at the moment).
I think the same goes for drawing. Lots and lots of practice. This is going to be one long year because I have SO much that I need to improve. I hate trees.
Hm... what was the point of this? Oh, yeah. I looked through my favorites and realized that my tastes in art have changed over time. Not really. But I used to be into looking at people's fanart but that's obviously changed. Kinda.
Ending with this:
